In my experience, being a working musician has always involved some work in church music, whether it be with denominations I’m not personally affiliated with or within my own Roman Catholic rite. Understanding the music traditions of multiple denominations and the history of their interactions has been important to my formation as a musician.
What: Listened to a podcast episode on Gregorian chant.
Why: The Roman Catholic Church has seen a resurgence of interest in incorporating more chant into the liturgy.
